A few months ago I stumbled upon a genius online store called DealExtreme, and I knew that this would be one of the sites that I’ll often visit. Deal Extreme isn’t exactly a store for ultra-high quality products, but it offers jaw-dropping prices for products of rather medium quality. There are many reasons why I love DealExtreme:

  • They offer free worldwide shipping. I was blown away when I discovered that this was their shipping policy, as usually any other site would use the shipping alibi to pull more money out of my pocket. DealExtreme will ship for free worldwide even if the product you bought cost under 1$ (believe me, I tried it). It normally takes 10 to 15 days to get your item, but you will get it, each and every time.
  • Their prices are always the best on the market. Their products are usually Chinese manufactured, but there are always a few gems that have an average quality and still a mind-blowing price.
  • The user reviews are very honest and helpful. Whenever I need to buy any gadget through DealExtreme, even if it’s a 1$ or 2$ product, I will read a few user reviews on the gadget’s page and see how other users have reacted. If a product really sucks, I will certainly find one or two buyers saying that, which means that DealExtreme doesn’t remove bad reviews. Everything I have bought so far turned out to be the same as the users described.

Personally, I don’t use DealExtreme to buy important products, but more to buy small gadgets under 10$ that would probably cost over 10EUR here in Paris. After the break, you’ll see the items that I have already purchased on DealExtreme.

  • 10-Pack of black flashlight keychains: this was my first purchase, and for less than 5$ an extremely good bargain given that my own flashlight keychain cost me around 5$ for one unit. 2 units in the pack had a less powerful battery than the others.
  • Phone camera tripod: current phones don’t have the small tripod hole that you use to install them on a tripod. This 2.68$ unit comes with a top black unit that will fix my phone and that offers a hole to fix the full thing on a tripod. It also comes with a small metal tripod which isn’t very reliable, but still gets the job done. Other phone camera tripods cost easily over 15$.

Tripod

  • Laser pointer: I’m still wondering if this was a good deal, but I had a series of presentations at the university and I wanted a laser pointer. I instantly logged into DealExtreme, found this one and got it. Works like a charm.
  • 3-in-1 LCD cleansing kit: My macbook needs to have its screen cleaned every 2 or 3 days, from fingerprints, dust and the likes. At 5$, this towel + liquid + brush is a nice inexpensive kit that I keep in my drawer and always use. And it cleans well.
  • 5-Pack of fishbone wraps: These have to be the best thing since toasted bread! They allow me to keep all my wires (headphones, chargers…) wrapped up in a neat way without any tangles at all. At 2.71$, I’ve already gotten 10 of them, and gifted another 5 to a friend of mine who liked the idea.

Fishbone

  • Turtle wrap: It serves the same purpose as the fishbone wraps (keep cords organized without tangles), but at 2$ I use it for my laptop’s cable which is thicker than ordinary wires and hence wouldn’t hold still on the fishbone wraps.
  • 5 iPod Nano socks: I don’t have an iPod nano, but I was looking for a small case to keep my Jabra BT3030 headset inside my bag. I looked at hundreds of cases that were too big for the small Jabra, and eventually thought that I should look for an iPod nano case (they’re approximately the same size). I ended up on DealExtreme looking at these, and for 4$ they were way cheaper than any case I had found elsewhere. Of course these are not the Apple originals, and unlike what the page says, they come in a 5-Pack and not a 3-Pack (even better deal!).

iPod Socks

So far, I have been very satisfied with my experience with DealExtreme. If you find any other cheap gadgets worth buying, please tell me. I’m always looking for sweet deals!

Rita you are a genius! I just bought the tripod for 2us for my Nok N93, I always checked ebay for a tripod but paying 15 is not in my ”ideals”, anyway, thank for the great tip! Really happy right now.

BTW, cool pictures up there, it changes automatically

I had the same problem with the tripod, it’s a bit too much to pay 15-20$ since I’m not really a professional photographer and I only wanted to have one for my video reviews. This one does the job pretty well as far as I’m concerned. Hope you feel the same when you receive it!

I bought some r4’s from dealxtreme and mini sd cards. I received everything but a 4gig mini sd i didn’t receive. The r4’s from focalprice.com are way better! They give you the software (well on some orders), you get a case, card reader. At dealxtreme you only get the r4 in a box. My order took 4ever @ dealextreme they kept sending me notes that my products were not in stock and once they receive them they will ship it out to me. I done business with both companies and i’m much happier with focalprice.com. Hope this helps!!
